Filecoin (FIL) introduces ProPGF, an on-chain funding program aimed at supporting public goods development within its ecosystem, enhancing transparency and community involvement.
The Filecoin (FIL) ecosystem has taken a significant step towards enhancing community-driven funding for public goods with the introduction of the Filecoin ProPGF prototype. This novel on-chain funding program is designed to bolster the development of public goods, building upon the success of the RetroPGF initiative, according to Filecoin.
ProPGF: A New Funding Paradigm
ProPGF is established as a proactive funding mechanism that targets both new and existing opportunities for innovation in public goods. This initiative, in conjunction with the retroactive funding model of RetroPGF, seeks to create a comprehensive, community-managed funding vehicle. Development Roadmap
The development of ProPGF is outlined in a phased roadmap:

- Phase 2: On-chain Community Involvement – Integrate direct community on-chain voting for selecting funding recipients.

Formal applications for funding will open the week of March 31st, with the application period closing in late April. Proposals will be reviewed, and early decisions made by early May.
