However, visiting a bank branch is important for services like cash deposits, cheque clearances, and loan applications. One common question among customers is whether banks are open or closed on which Saturdays of the month.RBI cancels March 31 bank holiday: Govt orders banks to stay open for year-end closures
As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, banks in India follow a biweekly Saturday holiday system:
Banks are open on the first and third Saturdays of the month (unless specified in RBI holiday list)
Banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays.
Banks are closed on all Sundays and public holidays.

Are banks open or closed today on February 15, 2025?

Banks are open today on February 15, 2025, as it is the third Saturday of the month. However, banks are closed in Manipur on the occasion of the seed sowing festival- Lui-Ngai-Ni.

February 19 bank holiday
Banks are closed in Maharashtra on Feb 19 to celebrate and honor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birthday. It is a public holiday in Maharashtra. This celebration is held on February 19 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shivaji I, the Marathas’ first Chhatrapati.February 20 bank holiday
Banks are closed in Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh on Feb 20 on the occasion of Statehood Day/State Day. The day commemorates the states’ transition from Union Territories to full-fledged states in 1987.

February 26 bank holiday
Banks will be closed in most states on Feb 26 on the occasion of Mahashivratri except Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Bengal, New Delhi, Goa, Bihar and Meghalaya.

Digital banking
Even when bank branches are closed, customers can still access:
ATMs – Available 24/7 for cash withdrawals and deposits (if enabled).
Internet Banking & Mobile Banking – Transactions, bill payments, and fund transfers continue without interruption.
UPI & Digital Payments – Unified Payments Interface (UPI), credit/debit cards, and digital wallets remain fully functional.
