Key changes for SBI credit cardholders: Will Vistara milestone rewards and other benefits continue after April 1

FinanceLaneby FinanceLane
March 21, 2025

When Vistara and Air India merged in November 2024, the loyalty program underwent major adjustments. Air India’s Maharaja Club took over the Flying Returns program, and the Club Vistara program was incorporated into the recently reorganized system. Following this, many credit card companies such as SBI Card, Axis Bank, IDFC First Bank have revised the benefits.

SBI Card credit card changes

Starting April 1, 2025, SBI Card will implement significant changes to the benefits associated with its Club Vistara SBI Credit Cards and Club Vistara SBI PRIME Credit Cards. One of the key modifications is the removal of economy and premium economy ticket vouchers as renewal benefits. Additionally, milestone benefits that previously offered ticket vouchers on reaching spending thresholds of Rs 1.25 lakh, Rs 2.5 lakh, and Rs 5 lakh will be discontinued. Also read: Big changes for these SBI credit cardholders: Major reward point cuts announced

However, to ensure such customers continue to enjoy value from their cards, the renewal fee of Rs 2,999 will be waived off during card renewal.

For existing cardholders before April 1, 2025:
Cardholders whose renewal date falls before April 1, 2025, will continue to receive the existing renewal and milestone benefits if they meet the eligibility criteria. This means:

  • They can still avail milestone benefits, including ticket vouchers, as per the existing terms.
  • The renewal fee of Rs 2,999 will still be applicable in these cases.
  • Unchanged Benefits for Club Vistara SBI PRIME credit cardholders

Despite the upcoming changes, several key benefits of the Club Vistara SBI PRIME credit card will remain intact, including:
Maharaja Points Accrual
Earn 4 Maharaja Points (previously known as CV Points) per Rs 200 spent on the card.
These points will be transferred on the billing date each month.
Annual Hotel Voucher
Receive a Rs 10,000 hotel voucher upon spending ?8 lakh annually.
Complimentary Lounge Access
8 domestic airport lounge visits per year.
4 international airport lounge visits per year.

Axis Bank Vistara changes
As part of this transition, Axis Bank has waived the annual fee for renewals while discontinuing certain travel-related perks such as complimentary Maharaja Club tier memberships and milestone ticket vouchers.
Cardholders will continue to earn Maharaja Points on eligible transactions and enjoy premium benefits like lounge access, dining discounts, and golf privileges.
