Due to regional holidays and observances, banks in different cities will be closed on certain dates in accordance with the Negotiable Instruments Act. Banks will remain closed where on the following occasions in March 2025:
March 7 (Friday): Chapchar Kut
March 13 (Thursday): Holika Dahan, Attukal Pongala
March 14 (Friday): Holi (Second Day) – Dhuleti, Dhulandi, Dol Jatra
March 15 (Saturday): Holi, Yaosang 2nd Day
March 22 (Saturday): Bihar Diwas
March 27 (Thursday): Shab-I-Qadr
March 28 (Friday): Jumat-ul-Vida
March 31 (Monday): Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr) (Shawal-1), Khutub-E-Ramzan.
State wise bank holiday list for March 2025
March 7 (Friday) : Banks will be closed in Mizoram.
March 13 (Thursday): Banks will be closed in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jharkhand for Holika Dahan. Banks will be closed in Kerala on the occasion of Attukal Pongala festival.
March 14 (Friday): Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, New Delhi, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and Srinagar.
March 15 (Saturday): Banks will be closed in Tripura, Odisha, Manipur, and Bihar.
March 22 (Saturday) – Fourth Saturday: Banks will be closed as it is the fourth Saturday of the month irrespective of state.
March 27 (Thursday) – Shab-I-Qadr: Banks will be closed in Jammu and Srinagar.
March 28 (Friday) – Jumat-ul-Vida: Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar.
March 31 (Monday) – Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr): Banks were supposed to be closed on March 31 in almost all states except Himachal Pradesh and Mizoram for Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr). But, the Reserve Bank of India has instructed all agency banks and banks that handle government transactions to remain open on March 31, 2025 (Monday), even though it is a holiday in many states.
Digital banking
During these dates, ATMs, mobile banking, and internet banking will continue to function even though banks will be closed. To prevent interruptions, customers are encouraged to schedule their financial transactions in advance.
