ICICI Bank cuts FD interest rate by up to 20 bps: Senior citizens can earn 7.35% on these tenures

ICICI Bank has slashed its fixed deposit (FD) account interest rates by up to 20 basis points (bps) on select tenures for amounts less than Rs 3 crore. The rates are applicable from May 26, 2025.

After the revision, the bank offers FD interest rate between 3% and 7.05% for general citizens, and for senior citizens, the bank now offers interest rates between 3.5% to 7.55%.

For which tenures has ICICI Bank reduced FD interest rates?

ICICI Bank has reduced its fixed deposit (FD) interest rates across various tenures. For deposits of 1 year to less than 15 months, the rate has been cut by 20 basis points (bps) to 6.5% from 6.7%. Tenures of 15 months to less than 18 months now offer 6.6%, down from 6.8%. FDs maturing in 18 months to 2 years will earn 6.85%, a reduction from the earlier 7.05%. For the 2 years 1 day to 5 years tenure, the rate has been brought down by 15 bps to 6.75% from 6.90%. Deposits of 5 years 1 day to 10 years will now fetch 6.7%, compared to the earlier 6.8%. The interest rate on tax-saving FDs has also been revised to 6.75% from 6.9%.

Senior citizens FD interest rate

For senior citizens, the bank offers FD interest rate between 3.5% and 7.35% for amounts below Rs 3 crore after revision. The highest FD interest rate of 7.35% on tenure 18 months to 2 years.

For general citizens, ICICI bank offers recurring deposit (RD) interest rate between 4.75% and 6.85% for general citizens and for senior citizens the bank offers between 5.25% and 7.35% on various tenures.
