The Cars24 survey, which covered 1,000 people, revealed that most drivers see fines as a minor inconvenience rather than a deterrent. 60.3% say they follow rules, but 20.4% admit they would take risks even if fines were doubled. In fact, 14.2% admitted to negotiating their way out of a challan, with 38.5% of those surveyed admitting they have paid a bribe once or twice, while 15.9% admitted to doing it more often.
