Telegram introduces direct messaging for channels, voice message trimming, enhanced topic navigation, and HD photo sharing, enhancing user experience with innovative features.
Telegram has rolled out a series of updates aimed at enhancing user interaction and content sharing on its platform, according to Telegram. The new features include direct messaging to channels, voice message trimming, improved topic navigation, and the ability to send photos in high definition.
Direct Messaging for Channels
One of the most notable updates is the ability for users to send direct messages to channels. This feature allows private chats between subscribers and channel owners or admins, providing a streamlined interface separate from personal chats. Channel owners can also set a fee for each direct message, facilitating more meaningful conversations.
Enhanced Topic Navigation
Telegram has introduced a new tab layout for topics within groups, designed to offer faster access and easier navigation. Users can switch between a larger sidebar or a minimalist bar at the top of the chat, allowing seamless movement between conversations.
Voice Message Trimming
The update also includes a new feature for voice messages, enabling users to trim the start and end points of their recordings. This allows for precise editing without needing to re-record, and users can add additional sections by tapping the microphone icon.
High-Definition Photo Sharing
Since 2014, Telegram users have been able to send full-resolution photos. The latest update adds a ‘High Definition’ option, which significantly enhances image detail while maintaining efficient data usage. HD images are delivered with four times the pixel count, using less than 0.5 MB of data.
Additional Features
iOS users can now share media directly to their Telegram stories from other apps, streamlining the process of sharing content found in apps like Photos. Furthermore, Telegram has expanded poll options, allowing up to 12 choices and the ability to forward polls to saved messages for future reference.
