XRP investors pivot towards this up-and-coming altcoin

FinanceLaneby FinanceLane
March 31, 2025

XRP has a powerful presence in the crypto market. Ripple Labs has reached a settlement with the U.S. SEC regarding the sale of unregistered securities, agreeing to pay $50 million of a $125 million fine. While pending approval, the settlement brings closure to one of the SEC’s high-profile cases against the crypto sector. However, despite the long-drawn legal battle nearing resolution, there are several reasons why XRP might not be the most attractive altcoin at the moment.
XRP struggles to make a comeback
One of the biggest challenges that XRP faces is ongoing regulatory uncertainty. Although Ripple’s legal battle with the U.S. SEC appears to be concluding—potentially with reduced penalties—investors remain cautious.

Even if Ripple secures a favourable outcome, the project still faces regulatory risks, making it a less predictable investment.

The coin’s appeal among new investors is fading. With its already substantial market cap, it offers limited potential for those seeking high-growth opportunities in the crypto market.
The XRP price is currently hovering under $2.10 with over 200% growth on the annual chart. However, it remains 30% below its local high of $3.30, recorded in January.

For this top altcoin to return to its all-time high (ATH) and make further gains, its market cap would need to expand significantly. That would require widespread institutional adoption. Although the broader market remains optimistic about increasing adoption and pro-crypto regulations, XRP faces stiff competition. XRP was designed for cross-border payments, yet banks and financial institutions have not widely embraced it. Additionally, Stablecoins and Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) present a challenge to its future expansion.

Another concern among investors is centralisation. While top crypto projects such as Bitcoin or Ethereum are decentralised, XRP’s network relies on Ripple Labs, which controls a significant portion of its total supply. This raises fears of XRP price manipulation, discouraging strategic investors.

Is XRP dead?
XRP is not dead, but it faces a difficult path forward and may not be the best crypto to buy now.

Unlike Ethereum and Solana, which have sustained investor interest through smart contract ecosystems, XRP lacks diverse utility. It is not widely used across different real-world applications, limiting factors that could drive token demand and XRP price growth.

With more innovative projects entering the scene, XRP appears to be losing momentum.. It has failed to capture the interest of investors looking for high-risk, high-reward opportunities.

Without broader adoption or new developments that increase its use cases, there are fewer catalysts to drive token demand. As a result, some investors are exploring alternatives with lower market capitalisations and higher growth potential.

The rise of decentralised crypto wallets
One emerging sector gaining traction is decentralised crypto wallets. These platforms offer users greater control over their digital assets while integrating features such as decentralised exchanges, multi-chain support, and portfolio management tools.

One such new altcoin, Best Wallet, has introduced a non-custodial wallet designed to simplify digital asset management. The platform supports multi-chain transactions, including Bitcoin, and has released mobile applications on both iOS and Android.

The Best Wallet presale has reportedly crossed the $11 million milestone, with ongoing interest from investors.

Best Wallet (BEST) presale raises $11M as demand grows
Best Wallet ($BEST)’s extensive ecosystem is growing popular among crypto investors.

More than a storage solution, it is a full-fledged crypto hub. Here, users can buy, sell, store, and trade over 1,000 tokens across more than 60 blockchains. The platform recently launched support for Bitcoin and plans to expand to more blockchains over time.

Its innovative features, including ‘Wallet Import’ and ‘the Upcoming Tokens’ portal, have played a key role in expanding the user base. While Wallet Import allows users to integrate their existing crypto holdings, the Upcoming Tokens portal helps investors spot promising presale opportunities.

BEST powers the entire Best Wallet ecosystem. In addition, it gives holders benefits, including exclusive access to pre-launch cryptos, reduced transaction fees, higher passive rewards, and more.

The passive reward programme is live right from the presale phase and investors have already locked in over 188 million BEST tokens. The rewards will be distributed over three years.

The project is also expanding its community through an airdrop programme, allowing users potentially to earn free BEST tokens by completing tasks such as joining the project’s Telegram channel.

The road ahead looks promising
While XRP struggles to maintain its momentum due to a lack of adoption and utility, Best Wallet has a promising road ahead. The expanding ecosystem includes portfolio management tools, real-time market insights, a built-in newsfeed, a crypto debit card, and a non-fungible token (NFT) gallery.

Platforms such as CoinSniper, CoinDataFlow, and ICOBench have listed this new altcoin as a top crypto to buy now. According to popular crypto influencer Austin Hilton, Best Wallet is one of the “top new crypto projects to come out in a while”.
While competitors including MetaMask have a strong presence, Best Wallet allows the community to capitalise on its potential growth with BEST tokens.

The BEST presale is compatible with both cryptos and fiat cards. Having raised $11 million already, the presale is moving towards an early sell-out.
