Ladki Bahin Yojana: Eligible women beneficiaries to receive 8th, 9th instalments of Rs 3000 ahead of International Women’s day

Eligible beneficiaries of Maharashtra’s Ladki Bahin Yojana are eagerly waiting to receive the next instalment. Ahead of International Women’s Day 2025, the Maharashtra government has announced that it will deposit the pending instalments in the bank accounts of 2.52 crore eligible women.

Maharashtra Women and Child Welfare Minister Aditi Tatkare shared the update, emphasizing the scheme’s goal of empowering women through financial assistance. The 8th and 9th instalments for February and March will amount to a total honorarium of Rs 3,000 (Rs 1500 + Rs 1500), as per the social media post. As per the official statement , these funds will be credited by March 7, 2025.

Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana

The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is a welfare initiative launched by the Maharashtra government to provide financial assistance to women, fostering economic independence and social security. Under this scheme, eligible women aged between 21 and 65 years will receive Rs 1,500 per month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Who is eligible for Ladki Bahin Yojana?

The criteria to be eligible beneficiary of the financial assistance under Ladki Bahin Yojana is as follows. The eligible beneficiary
· Must be a resident of Maharashtra.
· Married, widowed, divorced, abandoned, or destitute women, as well as one unmarried woman per family.
· Must be between 21 and 65 years old.
· Should have a personal bank account linked to Aadhaar.
· The annual income of the beneficiary’s family should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.

Who is not eligible for Ladki Bahin Yojana?

Women who fall in the following categories are not eligible for the Ladki Bahin Yojana.
· Those with a combined annual family income exceeding Rs 2.50 lakh.
· Families with income tax-paying members.
· Families with members employed as regular/permanent staff in any government department, public sector undertaking (PSU), board, or local body of the central or state government, or those receiving a pension after retirement. However, contractual employees, voluntary workers, and workers employed through external agencies with an income up to Rs 2.50 lakh are eligible.
· Women already receiving Rs 1,500 or more per month under any other government financial scheme.
· Families with current or former Members of Parliament (MPs) or Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs).
· Families with members serving as Chairman, Vice Chairman, Director, or Member of a government board, corporation, or undertaking.
· Families owning a four-wheeler (excluding tractors) registered in their name.

How to apply for Ladki Bahin Yojana?

Women who are unable to apply for Ladki Bahin Yojana online can submit their applications online or offline at designated centers, including Anganwadi Sevikas, Supervisors, Head Sevikas, Setu Suvidha Kendras, Gram Sevikas, Community Resource Persons (CRPs), ASHA Sevikas, Ward Officers, City Mission Managers (CMMs), Municipal Balwadi Sevikas, Help Desk Heads, and Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendras. No application fee will be charged.
Applicants must accurately provide their name, date of birth, and address as per their Aadhaar card. They should also key in their bank details and mobile numbers correctly.
