Aadhaar Virtual ID (VID) is a revocable temporary 16-digit random number linked to the Aadhaar number. When executing authentication or e-KYC services, VID can be utilised instead of Aadhaar number.

Authentication can be performed using VID in a manner similar to using Aadhaar number. Also, note that it is not possible to derive Aadhaar number from VID.
