After YES Bank, this bank cuts FD interest rate; check details

Private sector lender Equitas Small Finance Bank (SFB) has joined the list of banks revising interest rates on fixed deposits (FDs) in recent times. According to the bank’s website, it revised interest rates on fixed deposits (FD) for amounts less than Rs 3 crore, effective April 7, 2025. Recently, YES Bank made changes to its FD interest rates.Earlier, Equitas Small Finance Bank used to offer interest rates between 3.5% and 8.25% for general citizens and between 4% and 9% for senior citizens on FDs below Rs 3 crore, with tenures ranging from 7 days to 10 years.

Latest Equitas Small Finance Bank FD rates

After the revision, Equitas Small Finance Bank is now offering interest rates between 3.50% and 8.05% on FDs for general citizens and between 3.5% and 8.55% for senior citizens.

According to data available on the bank’s website, interest rates vary based on the tenure. For very short-term deposits ranging from 7 to 29 days, the FD interest rate is 3.5%; 4% for FD tenures between 30 and 45 days; and a 4.5% FD interest rate for tenures ranging from 46 to 62 days.


Following the update, fixed deposits with terms of 63 to 90 days will yield an interest rate of 5.5%; those with tenures from 91 to 180 days will earn 6%, while deposits with terms ranging from 181 to 270 days will receive 7% interest. Additionally, fixed deposits for 271 to 364 days will earn an interest of 7.2%.SBI closes Amrit Kalash FD offering 7.60%: Know SBI special fixed deposit earning 7.75%The bank is also providing a higher interest rate of 7.9% for longer-term deposits of 1 year to 443 days, which also applies to 444 days and up to 18 months. According to the data on Equitas Small Finance Bank’s website, from 18 months and 1 day to 2 years, the rate is at 7.75%, a rate that continues to 776 days. A deposit of exactly 777 days fetches 7.77%, while durations between 778 and 887 days earn 7.75%. Notably, 888-day deposits offer the highest rate at 8.05%. For tenures from 889 days to 3 years, the interest reverts to 7.75%.

For even longer durations, from 3 years and 1 day to 4 years, the FD interest rate is 7.50%, while deposits held for 4 years and 1 day to 5 years earn 7.25%. This same 7.25% rate applies to tenures extending from 5 years and 1 day up to 10 years.

Senior citizen FD rates

Senior citizens are eligible for an additional 0.50% interest rate over the regular fixed deposit (FD) rates offered. This preferential rate applies to all eligible FD tenures and is available only to resident Indian senior citizens. It is important to note that this benefit is not applicable to NRE (Non-Resident External) and NRO (Non-Resident Ordinary) accounts. Senior citizens can now earn interest rates ranging from 3.50% to 8.55% on deposits below Rs 3 crore, depending on the selected tenure. The highest rate of 8.55% is offered on the special 888-day deposit scheme.
