Indian Overseas Bank has made it simpler for its customers to access crucial financial documents. Now, they can easily get their home loan interest certificate online via DigiLocker by entering their housing loan account number and choosing the financial year. This will spare them the trouble of visiting a bank branch to get the same.
Home loan interest certificate is required by people who have a home loan for claiming deduction from their gross total income in order to reduce income tax payable.
However, this option would be available only to those who have a DigiLocker account.
How to download your housing or home loan interest certificate from DigiLocker:
Step 1: Open the DigiLocker app or visit the website.
Step 2: Log in with your credentials.
Step 3: Under ‘Banking and Insurance’. Select Indian Overseas Bank from the options.
Step 4: Enter your Housing Loan Account Number and choose the Financial Year for which you want the loan interest certificate.
Step 5: Click on ‘Get Document’ and download your certificate.
Note that the account statement will be password protected, which will be the last 5 digits of your account number.With this addition, Indian Overseas Bank now offers four key financial documents on DigiLocker, including savings account statements, loan account statements, Form 16 for depositors and housing loan interest certificates.

How to open a DigiLocker account?
According to the DigiLocker website, “Signing up for DigiLocker is easy – all you need is your mobile or Aadhaar number. Your mobile/Aadhaar number will be authenticated by sending an OTP (one-time password) followed by setting your security PIN for 2-Factor authentication. This will create your DigiLocker account.”
Indian Overseas Bank home loan rates
According to the bank website, the interest rates for home loans (including Subhagruha Home Loan, NRI Home Loan, Subhagruha Gen Next, and HL Surya) are determined based on the applicant’s credit score (CIC score) and employment type (Salaried or Non-Salaried). The Repo Linked Lending Rate (RLLR) is 9.10% effective from February 11, 2025.
