In order to deliver Subscriber Centric Services, Central Record Keeping Agencies (CRAs) appointed by PFRDA have integrated their systems with DigiLocker, allowing pensioners to now benefit from DigiLocker.
Digilocker has simplified the process of managing and storing documents. Previously, carrying original documents was a huge task; but, with Digilocker, documents can be uploaded and presented at any time and from any location.
The Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY(Digital )’s India programme) main project is called DigiLocker. It is a digital empowerment tool that gives citizens access to real digital records.
According to aPFRDA circular issued recently, “The issued documents in DigiLocker are treated at par with original physical documents as per Rule 9A of the Information Technology (Preservation and Retention of Information by Intermediaries providing Digital Locker facilities) Rules, 2016 notified on February 8, 2017 vide G.S.R. 711(E).”
DigiLocker offers the following benefits to NPS stakeholders:
Access of ePRAN card through DigiLocker for existing subscribers. This can be done by searching ePRAN in Digilocker.
Access of Account Statement through DigiLocker for existing subscribers. To get the statement, one can enter Account Statement in DigiLocker search box.
Undertaking KYC for NPS account opening for prospective subscribers.
- The following services are currently accessible using a DigiLocker Account:
- Protean e-Governance Technologies CRA (PCRA) – Subscribers of the CRA can view their e-PRAN card.
- KFin Technologies CRA (KCRA) – Subscribers of the CRA can view their PRAN card & Account Statement. The prospective subscribers can also open NPS account through Aadhaar – DigiLocker integration.
- CRA (CCRA)- Prospective subscribers of CCRA can open NPS account through Aadhaar – Digi locker integration.
Process for Aadhaar based KYC through DigiLocker
Step 1: Select the “Online Aadhaar” option for the DigiLocker-based KYC process, a popup will open asking for the Aadhaar.
Step 2: Enter OTP received on registered mobile number
Step 3: The subscriber’s demographic information (Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Address, and Photo) will be displayed after the Aadhaar XML has been fetched from DigiLocker.
Step 4: Other required information must be entered, and you must then proceed with the online payment to finish the registration.
